The new HTC One has already won us over, thanks to its collection of features and perfect launch timing. One of the highlights of the new flagship is the updated BlinkFeed homescreen, and HTC’s press release yesterday has silently revealed that this feature could make its way to other Android devices as well.
Although there’s no mention of a specific timeframe of launch, it seems evident that HTC is looking to bring its proprietary homescreen beyond HTC devices. Now this could take weeks or even months depending on HTC’s plans, but the fact that it’s on its way is good news.
Here’s an excerpt from HTC’s press release – “Following its popularity with HTC users, HTC will now make HTC BlinkFeed available to other Android devices, launching on the Google Play store soon.”
HTC’s existing devices like the HTC One, One Mini and the One Max are expected to get support for BlinkFeed first with the Sense 6.0 update in the coming months, so the rest of the Android population might have to wait a few weeks after that.
The new and updated BlinkFeed comes with improved navigation features, continuous scrolling and offline reading, making it a decent replacement for your standard feed reader.
