AT&T today announced that it will start carrying BlackBerry’s first Android running smartphone — the BlackBerry Priv — on its network from November 6. The slider handset will be available for purchase through AT&T’s retail store as well as its website.
BlackBerry had already started taking pre-orders for the Priv from a couple of weeks ago, though it was asking an exorbitant $699 for it. On AT&T though, you will be able to purchase the handset on a 2-year contract for $249, which should greatly reduce the initial blow to your wallet. You can also grab the handset through AT&T’s various Next plans that start from $24.97 per month and go up to $37.

The BlackBerry Priv comes with a 5.4-inch Quad HD AMOLED display that is curved on both edges, a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, an 18MP camera with OIS, 3GB RAM, 32GB of storage space, a microSD card slot, and a 3,410mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0 and wireless charging support. What makes the Priv unique, however, is its slideout keyboard, which is a rarity among smartphones nowadays.
AT&T will also start carrying the HTC One A9 on its network from today through its website, and will be making its way to retail stores from November 6. The carrier is offering the handset for only $99.99 on a 2-year contract or for as low as $17.34 through its Next plans.
