BlackBerry today announced its third Android smartphone, the DTEK60. Successor to the DTEK50, the DTEK60 packs significantly higher specs than it along with a price tag to match. Based on the reference design from TCL, the DTEK60 looks very similar to Alcatel’s Idol 4S.

The phone features a glass design with metallic frame and a 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display. Inside the DTEK60 is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset, an Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB RAM, 32GB storage, and a microSD card slot. The front also features a 21MP rear shooter with a f/2.0 aperture, Phase Detection AF, and dual-tone LED flash. The front of the phone houses an 8MP f/2.2 selfie shooter along with a selfie flash. The phone comes with a 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. Other specs of the handset include a USB Type-C port, fingerprint sensor located at the rear, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, NFC, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the DTEK60 comes with BlackBerry’s suite of apps and services along with enhanced security features. This includes Secure Bootloader, BlackBerry Hub, and more.

The premium build quality and specs have also led to an increase in the price of the DTEK60. The unlocked version of the handset has been priced at $499 and will be available in the US, Canada, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands from today, with no word on carrier availability. BlackBerry will also be bundling a complimentary accessory bundle with orders of the handset placed until November 8th that will include a Soft Shell case and Rapid Charger.
