Samsung’s latest flagship handsets — the Galaxy S8 and S8+ — are a technological marvel with their Infinity Display and all-glass build. While these handsets are easily the best Android smartphones available in the market, the experience of using them can be improved even further when you pair them with some great accessories.

Depending on the type of user you are, these accessories are either a must-have or….well…a necessity. Since the Galaxy S8 and S8+ are among the major flagship Android devices to be launched this year, you will find some decent discounts and deals on most of the accessories that I am mentioning below.

microSD card

Samsung has upped the internal storage on the Galaxy S8 and S8+ from 32GB to 64GB. While this should be enough for most users initially, you are bound to run out of space on the handset over a period of time. This is because out of the 64GB storage space, only around 52GB is available to users. And once you start installing all your apps and games, you will quickly run out of free space on the device. Not to forget that all the 4K videos shot from the S8’s 12MP rear shooter consume a precious amount of space as well.

This makes using a microSD card a must with the phone. While you will find plenty of cheap microSD cards on Amazon, it is highly recommended that you at least buy a Class 10 or UHS-1 certified card for optimum performance. By using a higher capacity card, you will be able to not only store your media files but also move some of your installed apps to the external storage to free up internal storage on the device.

Wireless Charger

Samsung started the trend of including wireless charging on its flagship devices with the Galaxy S6 in 2015. Since then, every major flagship handset from the company has launched with wireless charging. The Galaxy S8 and S8+ are no different and come with fast wireless charging. This means that when charged with a compatible fast charger, the Galaxy S8 and S8+ will charge almost as fast when charged via a wire.

Now, while the S8 and S8+ come with substantially larger displays than their predecessor, the battery capacity of both devices have remained unchanged. Due to this, the battery life of the handsets have taken a slight hit which means that if you are a heavy user, you will have to charge the handset during the day to ensure it lasts through the evening. This kind of makes it necessary for heavy users to have a wireless charger on their desk. This way, their phone will automatically be charging itself, without them having to remember to put it on charge.

You can’t always be in front of your desk, and if you are someone who travels a lot, having a car charger in your vehicle for your Galaxy S8 or S8+ is a must. Thanks to smartphones booming in popularity, prices of car charges have fallen significantly, and you can now buy one for as much as only $10. Even better though, you can now easily get your hands on car chargers with dual USB port for very cheap. They also support fast/quick charging so they will charge your Galaxy S8 rapidly as well.

Cases

The Galaxy S8 and S8+ are beautiful handsets with their Infinity Display at the front stealing the show. The same display also makes it a necessary to use a case with the phone since the glass design and lack of bezels make the front and rear Gorilla Glass panels extremely prone to shattering.

If you are a professional who is always on the move and spend more time in meetings and hotel rooms, the Galaxy S8’s DeX station is definitely for you. Using the DeX feature of the handset, the DeX station brings a full-fledged desktop experience through your Galaxy S8.

The DeX station comes with an HDMI port, 2 full-sized USB ports, an Ethernet port, and a USB-C power in port, and a dedicated cooling fan. It also features fast charging so it is able to charge your Galaxy S8 while it is docked.

Connecting the Samsung DeX dock to a TV will provide Galaxy S8 owners with access to an Android-based OS that provides an almost desktop-like experience.
