Samsung’s latest flagship handset — the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge — went up for sale in 20 countries across the world yesterday.
After the disastrous Galaxy S5, the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge are truly an impressive piece of technology from Samsung, which completely obliterate the competition. Samsung expects its latest Galaxies to sell in record numbers, and demand for the handset has been through the roof on T-Mobile and other carriers.
Since the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge are made of glass, putting a case on them is almost a necessity. In case you have purchased Samsung’s latest flagship and are looking for some case for it, check out our round-up of the top 5 cases for the handsets below.
Spigen Thin Fit Case
If you are looking for a thin, no frill case for the Galaxy S6, Spigen’s Thin fit case should get the job done. The case is made of premium polycarbonate and is extremely thin. It is also capable of protecting your precious new Galaxy device from day-to-day dings, drops and scratches.
The case also has openings for the buttons and ports, so as to not hinder usability and provide quick access to them.
-
Defined fit keeps device slim and lightweight
-
Hard case made from Premium Polycarbonate
-

-

Ringke Slim Case
If you want a case that does not hide the slim and beautiful design of the Galaxy S6, you can try Ringke’s transparent slim case. The transparent case is made of plastic and covers all the edges, including the top and bottom, of the Galaxy S6 to provide ample protection against dings and drops.
For a case with a slim design, the Ringke Slim case is pretty light on the wallet and costs only $9.99.

Dbrand skin
If like me, you are not a big fan of cases, you can have a look at Dbrand’s skin for the Galaxy S6. Dbrand skins are made from 3MM vinyl and have extraordinary precision and fit and finish. Being a skin, it will be able to protect the rear glass on the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge from scratches, and will also be able to offer enough protection to prevent them from cracking under normal falls.
However, the aluminium mid frame of the device will still remain exposed, which makes it vulnerable to dents and dings. On the flipside, installing a Dbrand skin will make your already attractive Galaxy S6 even more attractive.

Otterbox Commuter
If you want the ultimate protection for your Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 edge, the Otterbox Commuter is going to be your best bet. The case provides more than ample protection against drops and scratches, and even covers the buttons and flaps to prevent any kind of dust ingress.
All that protection comes for a pretty steep price tag of $35 though.

Samsung’s S-View and Clear View cover
If price is not an issue for you, definitely check out Samsung’s official S-View and/or Clear View cover. The S-View cover offers ample protection and comes with a flap, so it is also capable of protecting the display during a fall as well. There is a small window at the top part of the case, which will allow S6 owners to do basic tasks on the phone like receiving calls, controlling music and more without opening the flap.
The Clear View cover is pretty much similar to HTC’s popular Dot View cover, and will allow S6 owners to view notifications, check the time and receive calls without opening the flap. It does, however, lack some of the cool features like a custom wallpaper and the ability to play games as seen on the new Dot View cover for the One M9.
Since the cases are made from Samsung itself, they have top-notch fit and finish and precision, but cost a bomb.
