In order to keep the interest in BBM for Android alive, BlackBerry today released a new beta of the app with BBM Channels and BBM Voice. Sadly, BBM Beta is a closed community and if you are not a member of it, you will have to wait for some more time to get your hands on BBM Channels and Voice.

Both the features are already available to the handful of BB10 users. BBM Voice is like a Skype and Hangouts competitor that allows BBM users to make free voice calls to their contacts over Wi-Fi. On the other hand, BBM Channels is the company’s own take on a social network, meant only for BBM users.

There are other changes in this beta including access to 100+ additional emoticons, increased group sizes, faster and easier sharing of photos, and general bug-fixes.

The above features should also make their way to the iOS counter-part of the app sometime soon.
