I normally shy away from operator specific announcements because I recognize that a lot of you probably buy your smartphones like I do, fully unlocked and unsubsidized, but this next bit of a “news” is actually important. According to a leaked document from the office supply store chain Staples, Samsung’s Galaxy S4, the AT&T model, will go on sale on April 26th. That’s less than two weeks away. On the first of May the T-Mobile variant will be available. And on the last day of May you’ll be able to buy it on Verizon.
The rest of the world is eagerly awaiting to hear when their respective country will get the device, so it’s quite a good sign to see that it’ll land in America on the 26th. Coincidentally, the 26th is also when the UK is expected to get the GS4.
Which GS4 variant will land in America and the UK? The Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 model. I honestly can’t tell you which version of the GS4 is better, the Snapdragon or Exynos varient, because there hasn’t been any significant testing done. Some benchmark numbers have leaked, but I prefer waiting until a site like AnandTech has retail units in hand.
