Three months after officially unveiling it at Computex, Asus has now released more information about the ZenWatch 2 — its second Android Wear running smartwatch.
The smartwatch will be available in Europe from October in two different sizes: a ‘large’ 49mm model with a 1.6-inch display and a ‘small’ 45mm variant with a 1.45-inch display. Both variants make use of AMOLED display and are powered by a Snapdragon 400 processor. They also pack 512MB RAM, 4GB of built-in storage, and will offer more than two days of battery life.
The ‘large’ ZenWatch 2 will be compatible with 22mm wrist bands, while the ‘small’ variant will support 18mm straps.
Asus also boasts that the new magnetic charging connector will be able to charge the smartwatch to up to 50 percent in only 36 minutes.
What makes the ZenWatch 2 standout from other Android Wear smartwatches out there, is its price. The ‘large’ variant of the smartwatch will be available for only €169, while the ‘small’ variant will retail for €149 in Europe. The watch will be available in silver, gunmetal, or rose gold colored cases. Asus did not reveal the price of the ZenWatch 2 in other regions of the world, though it should be revealed once the watch nears its retail availability.
