Besides the ZenWatch, Asus also unveiled a new budget tablet — the new MeMO Pad 7. Just like the Lenovo Tab S8 announced earlier today, ASUS latest tablet sports a 64-bit quad-core chip from Intel, albeit it is a different variant running at 1.83GHz.

This time around, ASUS has focused on the design of the tablet giving it a very slick look “inspired by clutch bags and wallets.”

Compared to its predecessor, the new MeMO Pad is a substantial upgrade is nearly every department. It is also slimmer (8.3mm) and lighter (269 gms) than the original MeMO Pad, thanks to its slimmed down bezels and aluminium frames.

The full specs of the new MeMO Pad 7 are as follows:

  • 7-inch Full HD (1920 x 1200) display
  • Quad-core 64-bit Intel Atom Z3560 processor
  • 2GB RAM
  • 16/32GB of internal storage
  • microSD card slot
  • Dual speakers
  • 5MP rear camera
  • 2MP front-facing camera
  • Optional 4G LTE connectivity (via Intel’s XMM 7160 modem)
  • 16GB of free cloud storage space
  • Android 4.4 KitKat

The MeMO Pad 7 will be available in three “sophisticated” colors — Burgundy Red, Champagne Gold and Gentle Black.

The tablet will hit the retail stores later this year for a price of around €199.
