Now, Fossil is among the first to make good on its promise. Announcing it has begun pushing the new OS to its trio of smartwatches. Owners of the Fossil Q Wear, Q Marshal, and Q Founder. Will now enjoy the unique features of Android Wear 2.0. Including the standalone apps at the Play Store, improved navigation, and fitness enhancements. Since the original batch of Android Wear watches weren’t built with NFC chips inside. They won’t be able to take advantage of the new Android Pay support. To install the update:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen, and continue swiping right until you see the Settings gear icon.
  2. Tap it, and scroll down to the bottom until you see About.
  3. Tap it, tap System Updates, and follow the instructions to download and install the latest updates.

Fossil hasn’t yet announced any new watches built for Android Wear 2.0. Presumably, the company will introduce new models later.

Watch this space: While the first few Android Wear 2.0 watches haven’t done much to build momentum for the new OS, it’ll be an excellent update for old watches. Android Wear 2.0 will be like getting Nougat for your phone, even without Android Pay. You don’t have to worry about the manufacturer messing with any functionality.
