The resurrection of the Nokia br may happen in the fourth quarter of this year, which could make for some really nostalgic holiday gifts.
According to Chinese site Theper, Nokia executive Mike ng confirmed that three or four Nokia-bred Android devices are on the way for the fourth quarter of 2016. The comeback effort would include both phones tablets.
There is a chance, however, that the timeline could get pushed back depending upon how things progress. It wouldn’t be a terrible shocker considering we’re talking about a new company, HMD. It’s composed of former employees from Microsoft, the old Nokia, others who are bing together to resurrect the once-iconic br.
The best rumor we have is that the phones will have 5.2-inch 5.5-inch Quad HD, OD displays, a Snapdragon 820 SOC, 22.6Mback camera, a metal build with water dust resistance. No word on what a tablet would look like.
y this matters: Those of us old enough to remember the early era of mobile phones may have had one of those Nokia bricks that made phone calls played Snake. HMD can’t rely on nostalgia alone. The company will need to bring some innovation to the table in a market that’s packed in with plenty of new phone options.
