You know you’re living in the future when your watch needs a software update. That’s the case for a lot of those running Android ar this week, with some minor but important security updates making their way out to everyone.
It was relatively slow in terms of other updates, but that’s likely because it’s the calm before the Android Nougat storm hits.

Security updates: A batch of watches are getting the latest security patches. My second-generation Moto 360 received one this week, which brought the ly updates (August just became available for developers last week).
Our search uncovered that this has rolled out to the Moto 360 (second generation), Sony Smartwatch 3, G tch R, tch Urbane. So if one hasn’t shown up, swipe over to the settings check for updates.
Nexus
Android Security Bulletin: Now that the factory images with the August update are here for Nexus devices, it’s time for everyone else to get in on the fun. The Android Security Bulletin details that the security patches have now been made available for the Android Open Source oject, which is what hardware makers use to build a version of Android for their own phones tablets.
So if you have a non-Nexus phone, your August security patches may come later in the month.
