A new Nexus 5 may be coming very soon.
The latest rumor is courtesy of Android lice, which offers the first detailed specs a potential launch window. Its info comes from a “trusted source” which is kept anonymous, though the site has a pretty good reputation with its crystal ball.
According to the report, the -built phone (it may or may not be named the Nexus 5) will have a 5.2-inch screen with a 1080p resolution, a Snapdragon 808 processor (a step down from the flashy, hot-running, Snapdragon 810), 3GB of RAM, a B Type-C port, a 2,700 mAh battery. On the camera front, we’re looking at 12.3Mon the back 5Mon the front.
In all, the specs sound definitely below the “flagship” line. Historically, Nexus devices have specs a step below top-of-the-line, but lower prices to match. Not everyone wants the maximum number of pixels in the screen or a glass–metal build. A solid, pure Android device is what makes sense for a lot of buyers out there. at’s more, the lean pure Android software tends to make Nexus phones feel more responsive than many phones with more impressive specs.
The report says it may be here by the end of September, but there’s not much else to go on. There could be more leaks rumors as we get closer to an announcement, so we’ll stay tuned to what else pops up.
The story behind the story: The summer’s running rumor has been that is working on two Nexus devices: a larger device manufactured by Huawei a refresh of the popular Nexus 5 from . may have learned one size doesn’t fit all, especially when that size is a Nexus 6 that’s just way too big.
