Every year, names its next version of Android after a sweet treat, working its way through the alphabet from A to Z. Typically, the company announces it either the day it launches a new product, or in a cleverly-written blogpost. This year, we found out about the next version of Android through Twitter first.

unveiled the statue for Android Marshmallow at its Mountain View headquarters this morning. The statue is a green Android figurine holding a giant marshmallow. Honestly, we were expecting a mascot along the lines of the Stay ft marshmallow man.
ile the new mascot looks delicious enough to smother in between two pieces of graham cracker a chocolate bar, the real news is at the official Android Developers blog. Android Marshmallow will be Android 6.0 the SDK is now available for all you developers out there. There’s still no word on when to expect it to arrive to your Android devices, though. th so many users still waiting for Android 5.1, even 5.0, I wouldn’t hold your breath about getting a 6.0 update anytime soon. Your best bet to get the new version of Android, as always, will be to buy this year’s latest Nexus phone.
