There’s an adage that “when it rains it pours,” that definitely applies to Android updates this week. Several devices got the move to Android 5.1, while others got some key improvements in other areas. 

Each week we compile all the major software updates to hit the ecosystem, including phones tablets on U.S. carriers, unlocked phones, Android ar smartwatches, Android TV devices. Making sure your device is running the latest available software is a good housekeeping practice, ensuring you have the latest features with fewer bugs gaping security holes.

AT&T

Moto X (2014): The current generation of this device started a soak test recently, but now the full rollout of Android 5.1 is headed your way. See Motorola executive David Schuster’s + page for more details about software version 23.16.2. 

HTC Desire Eye: The llipop update is headed your way, according to HTC’s Mo Versi. It’s not a leap all the way up to 5.1, but at least you’re finally in the llipop club.

Galaxy S5: This is a minor performance stability update. AT&T is bringing a 296MB upgrade over-the-air to your device.

G3: You’re getting McAfee Factory Reset otection (hooray?) along with other security fixes which protect against unauthorized factory resets rooting. These can prevent someone from wiping your device using it for themselves should it go missing.

Moto E (AT&T Goone): There’s plenty of Android 5.1 to go around this week, as it’s also hitting the pay-as-you-go budget device from Motorola. ok for the software update to come your way any moment now.

Verizon

Droid Turbo: It’s long overdue, but Android 5.1 is finally coming to your device. It’s coming as an over-the-air update, but the Motorola changelog indicates you can manually install by going to the update menu.

Galaxy S6, S6 ge: A couple of minor over-the-air updates for Samsung’s latest flagships. Verizon’s support website says you’re getting the Reactivation ck anti-theft feature support for roaming to erto Rico.

Galaxy Note ge: Remember the really expensive version of the Galaxy Note 4 with the curved glass? ll it’s finally getting the bump to Android llipop. The Verizon support page details all that Touchz-friendly Material Design.

Motorola

Moto G: th the Droid Turbo being the exception, Motorola is usually pretty good about timely updates. The Moto G is another, as the version sold directly by the company is jumping up to Android 5.1. 

Moto E: A soak test is underway in India Brazil for Android 5.1. That matters for you because should things go well overseas, your edition here in the states will be next. 

Sprint

HTC One M9: HTC’s Mo Versi announced this update on Twitter, which brings Android 5.1 improvements to the device’s camera. 

Huawei

Ascend Mate 2: Android 5.1 is available for you now. You can install it yourself by following Huawei’s walkthrough or wait for the update to hit your device.
