Gmail for Android is getting a couple of nice new interface touches with the update to version 5.2. It adds a revamped contacts card that displays recent conversations, + posts, other details about whomever you’re corresponding with.
en you tap the avatar of a message sender, a card appears that categorizes details like how to reach them, past conversations, any notes you’ve made about them, social links.
Another improvement is to the setup process for adding IMAor Microsoft Exchange accounts to the Gmail app. The page where you add in your account details has a Material Design refresh. says that using additional accounts should also be more reliable.
An A teardown by Android lice found some more gems hidden in the code that may make it into a future update. One is for a vacation responder, which you can use to set up an auto-reply for anyone who emails you during a specified time period.
The other is Gmail’s unsubscribe feature, which lets you opt out of marketing messages with one click. For now, both of those features are only available on the desktop.

y this matters: The additional details are nice to have so you’re up to date on what your contacts are up to. The improvements to Exchange IMAsupport are a big deal for , however, as it wants to convince you to use Gmail as your all-in-one solution for your various accounts.
