HTC is taking its sweet time as it tries to build a smartwatch that people might actually wear.
The company had originally planned to launch a wearable device around now, but decided to put the product on hold, HTC Americas head enzie told Re/code. “It ended up just not being ready,” he said.
“en we come to market with our product we want to make sure the product has a strong point of view there is a really compelling reason to strap it on your wrist,” Drew Bamford, head of the wearables team at HTC’s Creative bs, added.
The confirmation from HTC follows an earlier story by CNET, in which unnamed sources said the company was planning a smartwatch for early 2015.
