HTC is seriously stepping up its smartphone camera game. After rumors this week of a refreshed One M8 with a substantial camera upgrade over the original, gadget-leaking Twitter account @upleaks is teasing another device with two 13-megapixel cameras.
This phone looks to join the Desire family, which typically is more budget-friendly.

The story behind the story: HTC may be going camera-first with its upcoming line of phones, as a 13-megapixel camera on the front would allow for some serious selfies.
This week’s leaks could point to an evolving strategy on the part of HTC for how it will market new phones in light of past misfires. Our review of the HTC One M8 was favorable, with the exception of the disappointingly low-res camera. A mulligan to the One M8 a Desire for selfie lovers would give HTC plenty of room to play up its phones’ camera features.
Hopefully we will get more details at HTC’s camera-focused event in New York to show off its ReCamera, an “action” shooter to compete with the popular Goo. It’s not a guarantee we’ll see a new phone there, but it would make sense to showcase one or more devices targeted at photo lovers.
