The HTC One Remix for Verizon has officially been announced will be available ly 24 (that’s tomorrow) for $100 on a new two-year contract. The new smartphone can also be purchased through Big Red’s ge program, but the monthly pricing has yet to be unveiled.

Don’t let the name change fool you, as there’s little different when comparing the Remix to the One Mini 2. The Remix sports a 4.5-inch 720p HD display, 16GB internal storage, 13 megapixel camera with single D flash, BoomSound speakers, Micro SD card slot, XE support, HTC Sense 6 running on top of Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

It’s nice to see two stout features still make the cut in the One Remix: the BoomSound speakers metal body design. These signature features in the One family definitely help the Remix hold its own in the mid-range market.

th all the love we have for the HTC One (M8), the One Remix may be a good option for those who aren’t seeking out a 5 inch display or don’t want to spend $200 on a br new smartphone. Sacrifices in the specs are to be expected with a phone aiming at this market, the One Remix is no different. That zippy 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 801 with 2GB of RAM has been downgraded to a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 with 1GB of RAM.

There’s another catch: Most of the popular, high-end smartphones are also $100 right now on Verizon’s website, so choose wisely when getting your new smartphone. You can currently get a far more powerful G3, Galaxy S5, or the full-sized HTC One (M8) for the same on-contract price.
