Samsung has just announced a new Galaxy S5 variant dubbed the E-A that comes packing a quad HD (QHD) display—the first ever in the company’s line of smartphones. The new Galaxy S5 E-A is only available in South Korea right now it’s unlikely to show up in the U.S. anytime soon, since it’s still early days for E-A (E Advanced) in North America.

Samsung says the E-A connectivity will alow the phone to reach download speeds of up to a whopping 225 megabits per second. At that rate, with perfect online traffic conditions, you could download a high-definition movie in just a few minutes. That’s the advertised speed, however, which tend to vary greatly from real world experience.

Besides the turbocharged wireless connection, the biggest changes with the new Galaxy S5 are the display the processor. The new Korea-only E-A phone features a 5.1-inch QHD Super Amoled display with 2560-by-1440 resolution at 577 pixels per inch. The original S5 also has a 5.1-inch Super Amoled display, but with a punier 1080p resolution.

As for the processor, Samsung has upgraded from the quad-core Snapdragon 801 to the quad-core Snapdragon 805. The 805 is a bit faster than the 801 is geared towards higher resolution displays like the one on the S5 E-A.

Samsung’s latest announcement comes after rumors of an impending S5 ime/Galaxy F upgrade for Samsung’s flagship smartphone. The S5 E-A seems to be the fullfilment of those rumors, which claimed we’d see a hset with a larger 5.3-inch display at 2560-by-1440 resolution a Snapdragon 805 chip.

This is the second time Samsung has beefed up its Galaxy smartphone with E-A capability. In 2013, the company did the same thing with the Galaxy S4. As with the S5 E-A, the S4 variant was limited to Korea.
