novo has a new range of budget Android tablets on the way, just in time to compete with Samsung’s new Galaxy Tabs. assume ‘budget’ based on the UK pricing currently available, but U.S. pricing is yet to be announced.

On the low end, novo’s A7-30 will have a 7-inch, 1024-by-600 resolution display, a 1.3GHz quad-core Tek processor, a 2-megapixel rear camera, a VGA front-facing camera a 3500mAh battery  according to liputing. The main attraction is a pair of Dolby front-facing speakers, which novo says are “normally reserved for more expensive tablets.” There’s no word yet on pricing for this model.

novo’s A7-50 will be a slight step up in the same screen size, with an “HD” display (presumably 1280-by-720 resolution) wider viewing angles. It’ll sell for £99.99 in the United Kingdom, according to Android Central.

For a slightly larger option, the A8 has an 8-inch, 1280-by-800 resolution display, along with a 5-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front camera, a 4200mAh battery a quad-core Tek processor. U.K. icing is set at £139.99.

The 10-inch A10 tablet will round out novo’s lineup. The specs are similar to the 8-inch model, with a 1280-by-800 resolution display, 5-megapixel rear camera 2-megapixel front camera, but it has a larger 6340 mAh battery is pricier at £169.99.

novo says the new tablets will launch “worldwide” later this quarter. ‘ve asked the company for more specifics on U.S. pricing release dates.

Samsung, meanwhile, has announced its own 7-inch, 8-inch 10.1-inch tablets in the Galaxy Tab 4 line. though Samsung hasn’t announced prices, the new tablets will likely compete with novo on the lower end when they launch later this quarter. Now that Amazon have moved in a slightly more premium direction with their Nexus 7 Kindle Fire HDX tablets, there’s a little more wiggle room for these cheaper options to compete.
