Samsung, , HTC aren’t the only smartphone manufacturers looking to takeover the Android market. ZTE, which has a particularly strong presence overseas, teased its 2014 smartphone lineup days ahead of next week’s industry dog–pony show in s Vegas.
ZTE will introduce the Gr S II, Nubia 5S, Nubia 5S Mini, Sonata 4G, Iconic ablet—that last one isn’t a typo. though there isn’t an official list of product specs available just yet, the Gr S II is referred to as ZTE’s “first high-precision voice phone” will feature voice-recognition unlocking voice-to-phone photography. It will also feature noise reduction for more natural clearer voice calls.
The Nubia 5S Nubia 5S mini, on the other h, will feature Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processors. The larger Nubia 5S comes with a 5-inch 1080p display a 13-megapixel camera with a Sony RS sensor 4K Ultra HD video camera, while the smaller Nubia 5S mini will have a 4.7-inch display come in an array of color options. The Sonata 4G is merely a mid-range phone with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, a 5Mcamera, as well as 720p screen.
stly, the Iconic ablet will sport a few special interface features, including the ability to display two applications simultaneously on its 5.7-inch screen. Its innards sound decidedly mid-range, however, as the phone-tablet hybrid will only feature a dual-core processor.
Beyond smartphones, ZTE will also announce the Bluetch, a smart watch with a built-in pedometer that tethers to a smartphone via Bluetooth, a reless Home Base device for AT&T, which allows subscribers to connect their home telephone to the AT&T wireless network.
ZTE wrote that this year, it’s “focusing on pairing unique designs with unparalleled technology in order to offer customers the best possible experience at an affordable price.” dging by the myriad of hset options, however, it seems like the China-based company is taking a page out of Samsung’s Book of eting. It’s unclear which of these hsets will make their way to the market.
’ll have more information next week as ZTE provides additional details from CES.
