Android Pay

Citing industry sources, The Telegraph says that Google will be launching Android Pay in the United Kingdom towards the end of March. Android Pay is Google’s new take on NFC-based mobile payment system that it launched last year.

The payment service has only been available in the United States since its launch, but if the report is anything to go by, Google is all set to expand the payment service to United Kingdom next month.

Once rolled out, Android users with a supported smartphone will be able to add their debit or credit card to Android Pay and then use their smartphone for paying at stores that feature an NFC-based PoS.

Samsung’s own payment service, Samsung Pay, is also scheduled to launch in the U.K. this year.

Apple had launched Apple Pay in the United Kingdom last year. However, due to security restrictions, the payment service can only be used for transactions below £30.
