Android Pay in apps

Android Pay is one of the fastest growing mobile payment options out there, and now one of its missing features is finally rolling out.

On December 15 and published in a post in the official Android blog, it’s now been announced that Android Pay is supported in apps. This will make it even easier to make in-app purchases, as well as buying physical goods and placing orders, all without having to pull out a card and type in the pertinent information each individual time. With Android Pay the sensitive information is stored securely as usual, and makes buying things from a mobile device even easier.

There are already several different apps that support Android Pay right now, including OpenTable, Instacart, Vinted, and many others. Some of them are paired with a limited-time promotion, too, which can see a percentage or certain dollar amount taken off your first purchase using Android Pay:

” For a limited time, you’ll also get special savings by using Android Pay in select apps—from $20 off on OpenTable* dining, $10 off your Lyft ride*, $10 off DoorDash* to 30% off Vinted*—there’s something for everyone.”

On top of that, it has also been announced that Android Pay will land in Australia, by way of many of the country’s major financial institutions’ MasterCard and Visa cards, in the early part of 2016.
