Google has confirmed what probably isn’t all that surprising: The Android Nougat beta is complete. So they’ve focused on what’s next.
Google today officially announced that the Android O beta will begin “soon,” revealing the big news on the official Android Beta Program landing page. Android O officially launched its first Developer Preview back in mid-March of this year, but that, as the title suggests, was geared more for the developers-only crowd.
This latest beta, though, should be ready for consumers. The ones that want to try pre-release software, anyway. There will still likely be bugs and other issues, which Google hopes will give it time to iron them out, and with more eyes trying to find them (or finding them by accident), they can get them fixed ahead of the public launch later this year.
In any event, we will learn more about Android O next week with Google I/O 2017 kicking off.
