Earlier today, Google released the fourth Developer Preview of Android N. The release also saw Google finalising the APIs and releasing the final SDK along with it, so that developers can start building their apps for the upcoming version of Android.
Among other changes, the Android N Developer Preview 4 also reveals the final name of the OS. The Easter Egg hidden in Android N DP 4 points to Google calling the OS as “Namey McNameface”. If you did not get the joke for some reason, it is in reference to a joke that Google made at its I/O conference this year based on the $100 million polar ship Boaty McBoatface, which got its funny name thanks to the internet.
If you have already installed Android N Developer Preview 4 on your Nexus, head over to Settings -> About Phone and tap on Android Version repeatedly to bring up the easter egg.
Now, it goes without saying that Google is now going to call the final version of Android N as “Namey McNameface”, but it is still hilarious to see the company joke about the final name of the OS.
Namey McNameFace, huh?
