Google today revealed the final name of Android N, and it is not what you were expecting it to be. The official name of Android N will be Android Nougat. Not Nutella that many were expecting it to be called.
Unlike previous years, Google for the first time took user suggestions on what it should be calling the final release of Android N that is expected to be released later in the summer.

And just in case you are unaware of what a nougat is, it is a “family of confections made with sugar or honey.” It is available in three kinds, with the white nougat flavor being the most popular.
While Google did not reveal the final version of the OS, it is likely that Android Nougat will end up being numbered 7.0 due to the massive amount of new features and changes it is bringing to the table.
