Android M Dark theme

Back in May, it was revealed that the next version of Android, Marshmallow, boasted a new “Dark” system theme, which made plenty of people excited for the new option.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like that particular setting has made it into the final, public release. As initially reported by Android Police, a response to a question posted within Android M’s issue tracker by a Googler states that the Dark theme isn’t available:

“This will not be included in the M release. However, this may be considered for future releases.”

So, just like that, the Dark theme has been booted from the official release of Android Marshmallow, and now Android users who were looking forward to that feature have to wait a bit longer. How much longer, of course, isn’t known at this point, but at least it’s a good sign that Google was at least considering the theme up until recently.

Are you sad to see the Dark theme go?
