Early on Tuesday, October 14, a leaked advertisement showcasing future products from Google, including Android L, found its way online. Now a new screenshot is lending some credence to reports that the next version of Google’s mobile operating system will indeed be “Lollipop.”

The image above is reportedly of a screenshot taken within Chromium Issue Tracker, and was taken by a Google developer. As you can see at the very top, within the Notification Tray, is a small Android-inspired lollipop. While this is far from official, it does seem to hint that this could indeed be the next sweet-based name for the OS.

However, it should be noted that before Android 4.4 KitKat launched, the general rumor was that it would be known as Key Lime Pie, and that even the debugging icon seen before the public launch was that of a slice of pie. So, while this little Android-inspired lollipop could indeed be a strong indicator of what the next version of Android will be known as, it could also be nothing at all.

What do you think? Is Android L “Lollipop?”
