Google has released the Android 7.1.1 Developer Preview 2 images for the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, and the Pixel C. The latest developer preview of the OS carries the build number NPF26F for the Nexus devices, with the Pixel C version carrying the build number NPF26H.
Google had earlier indicated that it would be adding support for the Nexus 6 and the Nexus Player to its Android 7.1 Developer Preview program with the release of the second preview release, but the company has now removed any such references from its website.
The OTA update (and download links) does not seem to be live yet, so if you cannot wait to try out Android 7.1.1, you will have to manually flash the factory image right away. And if you can wait, it is likely that the OTA update will start rolling out within the next 24-48 hours. Users who have already installed the latest factory image report that the emoji set is now more diverse to include more professions for women as well as men, but that’s about it.
If you want to receive the Android 7.1.1 Developer Preview 2 OTA update on your Nexus 5X or Nexus 6P when the update goes live, make sure to join the Android Beta Program. The final release of Android 7.1.1 for non-Pixel smartphones is expected to land next month.
