After numerous delays, HTC has finally started rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Google Play edition of the One M8 and One M7.
The company started rolling out the OTA update only a few hours after it received the TA from Google earlier today. As a bonus, HTC is rolling out the Android 5.0.1 update for the One M7 and One M8, making it the first Android handset to run the very latest flavour of Lollipop
HTC has been extremely transparent about the roll out process of the Lollipop update for its GPe handsets, and its Senior VP of product management, Mo Versi, has provided constant updates to users through Twitter. Since the roll out has just begun, expect the OTA update to take up to a week to land on your GPe One.
HTC has also promised to update the Sense variant of the HTC One to Android 5.0 within 90 days from the source code of Lollipop being made public i.e. by January end next year.
