HTC has started rolling out the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for the One M9 in Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
The 831.88MB update bumps the Android build to the very latest version of Lollipop that contains a number of performance improvements and bug fixes, including some for very nasty memory leaks. HTC has further reduced the charging time taken by the One M9 with this update.
The update also introduces some camera and performance improvements along with better thermal management. HTC has also tweaked their notification and volume system in this update to make it more user friendly. Additionally, there are also a number of new animations sprinkled throughout the OS.
The company has already updated the carrier variants of the One M9 in the United States to Android 5.1.
HTC is rolling out the update via OTA in stages, so every One M9 owner in the EMEA region will not receive the update immediately.
