While Android 5.1 factory images are already available for older Nexus devices, Google’s new Nexus 6 is still waiting to receive the update over-the-air. But according to a Sprint support page, the device will receive the latest Lollipop firmware today.

Sprint’s update page for the Nexus 6 clearly states a March 11 release date for Android 5.1, which has build number “LMY47D.” The carrier also lists a number of changes and improvements, including:

  • Factory Reset Protection
  • Enhancements to sending MMS messages in the UK
  • Fixed duplicate SMS messages being sent

Android 5.1 also delivers lots of other changes, including HD voice, enhancements to the Quick Settings panel, support for dual-SIM smartphones, and a fix for Lollipop’s nasty memory leak.

While this release date may have been published by Sprint, the carrier doesn’t have a specific Nexus 6 variant; it offers the same device that’s sold by Google and rival carriers. So, theoretically, an Android 5.1 update for Sprint’s Nexus 6 should mean an Android 5.1 for everyone’s Nexus 6.

But of course, there is a chance this support page is incorrect, so don’t be too disappointed if the update doesn’t reach your handset today. Whatever the case may be, you shouldn’t be waiting too long for Android 5.1, given that the Nexus 6 is Google’s latest device.
