Google has started rolling out the Android Wear 4.4W.2 update for the LG G Watch that adds support for GPS and offline music playback to the watch.

Even though the update adds support for GPS, G Watch owners will not be able to take advantage of it as the watch lacks the neccessary hardware. The only Android smartwatch to feature a built-in GPS chip is the upcoming SmartWatch 3 from Sony.

As for offline music playback, while the option to play music does appear in the menu post the update, tapping on it does nothing. Presumably, Google needs to update its Play Music app to add support for this feature.

Many G Watch owners have also reported that they are directly able to connect Bluetooth headsets to their watch post the update.

Besides the above changes and bumping the build number to KNX01Q on the G Watch, the update does not bring any other visible or noticeable changes.

Google had earlier stated that it plans on rolling out multiple updates to Android Wear before the end of this year to add new features and functionality. The next update for Android Wear is expected to bring add support for custom watch faces.
