Sony had announced earlier that it will roll out the Android 4.3 update for a bunch of Xperia devices, including the Xperia Z and ZL, sometime in December of this year. While the official update is nowhere to be found, a developer over at XDA forum has managed to get his hands on an Android 4.3 firmware for the Xperia Z and ZL.

Early reports from Xperia Z and ZL owners indicate that the leaked firmware packs a lot of goodies and enhancements. The first visible difference compared to the older Android 4.2 firmware is the improvement in speed.

Other changes in the firmware include a slight UI makeover with a white theme being used throughout the UI, a new single handed keyboard mode and a new camera app, as seen on the Xperia Z1.

There are also a bunch of new themes and usability enhancements throughout the UI. Sony’s suite of media apps have also been updated with minor features and enhancements. Sadly, there are a few bugs as well suggesting that this might not be the final firmware.

If you are impatient for the official Android 4.3 update to land for your Xperia Z or ZL, you can always flash the leaked firmware manually and enjoy some of the goodness offered by the latest version of Jelly Bean.
