Back in October, a couple of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean ROM leaked for the Galaxy Note 2 giving us the first glimpse of the latest version of Jelly Bean on the 2012 line-up of Samsung’s devices. Today, the folks over at SamMobile have managed to obtain an Android 4.3 test firmware for the smaller brother of the Note 2 – the Galaxy S3.
Samsung will be directly updating the Galaxy Note and S3 to Android 4.3 by the 1st week of December, so this leak firmware should not come as a surprise. The leaked firmware brings a lot of changes to the Galaxy S3 including a tabbed Settings UI, similar to the one present on the Galaxy S4 and Note 3. Sadly, the leaked firmware uses the old TouchWIZ launcher and widgets, and it is not yet confirmed if Samsung would be updating them to a newer version or not.
The leaked firmware does feel a lot smoother, and also includes all the other improvements and enhancements that Google introduced in Android 4.2/4.3 like Day Dream, Quick Settings etc. You can find the download link, flashing instructions and more screenshots over at SamMobile. Do make a backup of your data before flashing the firmware since it will wipe the device clean of any data.
