Today, HTC’s America President, Jason Mackenzie announced on Twitter that the Android 4.3 update for the developer edition of the HTC One would start rolling out from this week.

Back in August, Jason announced that HTC would release the Android 4.3 update for the carriers and developer edition of the One by the end of September in the United States. One owners in Canada will have to wait until the end of September to taste the Android 4.3 update on their handset.

Good news – the latest Sense experience & Android 4.3 will push to One Dev Edition owners this week & One customers in Canada by month end. – @JasonMacHTC

The bad news? HTC is still working with the carriers to get the Android 4.3 update certified for the carrier variants. The company is “working hard and optimistic” that they should get the required certification soon. Whether the company will be able to meet its promised deadline of September end is still unknown, but knowing the U.S carriers, their chances look bleak.
