LG’s G2 handset may not be breaking sales records in the US, but it is selling well overseas, says a report in Yonhap News. The company has reportedly sold 3 million units since the phone’s launch in August of this year. . According to Yonhap, the G2 may have reached the 3 million sales milestone for the year. This unofficial tally of sales come from South Korean analysts who track smartphone supply and demand. The bulk of sales took place in Q4 2013 with the manufacturer selling 2 million units in that fiscal quarter. The first million was sold between August and September. Over 900,000 of those sales were recorded in the company’s home country ot South Korea. Analysts expect LG to break the 1 million domestic sales mark in early 2014.
The LG G2 is the first LG device to break from the Optimus moniker, which previously graced the company’s premium line of smartphones and tablets. The G2 sports a quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2 GM of RAM, 5.2-inch display, 13-megapixel rear camera, 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, and Android 4.2.2.
