Subscription-based services have been around awhile, especially for movies and music, but now Amazon is jumping into the game with books, for all those people out there who can’t get enough reading.
The new service is called Kindle Unlimited, and it’s available starting July 18. With it, just like many other subscription services out there, you’ll pay a monthly fee to gain access to a library of books, as well as audiobooks, to download onto your devices and read whenever you want. There are some caveats, though.
First, you don’t have access to Amazon’s full library of books. Amazon says you’ll have access to over 600,000 titles, so it’s certainly a healthy number nevertheless. If you prefer audio books, though, Amazon has confirmed there will be over 2,000 options to choose from through Audible. While neither option offers up the full library, it’s still quite a bit of content, and the $9.99 per month price tag certainly makes it much more realistic for someone to wade through those libraries.

The service is available across a wide range of devices, including Android-based smartphones and tablets. Does this sound like a service you’d use?
