The HTC One M9 leaked in quite a few pictures last month, but they all turned out to be of a decoy unit. Today though, the folks over at Nowhereelse.fr have posted some photos of the rear shell of the One M9, which they believe is from the final variant of the device.
The reason Nowhereelse believes that these photos are real is because of the advanced level of machining done on them.
If true, it looks like HTC has retained the design of the M8’s rear shell on its upcoming flagship. The only notable change from the M8 is the camera cut out, which is now rectangular in shape and the dual-LED flash being located on its left.
Reports have indicated that the the HTC One M9 will come with a new design, at least from the front, that will see the device get rid of the infamous bottom black bar as seen on the One M7 and M8.
Looking at the size of the rear shell, it looks like the photos are of the One M9 Plus that HTC is rumored to launch beside the One M9 at MWC on March 1. The bigger version of the One M9 is expected to sport a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, a fingerprint sensor, a Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB RAM and a 20MP rear camera.
