Earlier in April, Alcatel OneTouch confirmed that they would have pre-orders open for the Idol 3, the company’s newest flagship, open up by April 21.
Apparently the company just couldn’t wait, as they’ve opened up pre-orders now and even dropped the price of the handset as well for those who want to pick one up before it officially launches. Right now, for early pre-orders, the OneTouch Idol 3 can be purchased for $199.99, which is about $80 cheaper than the MSRP, which is $279. Alcatel OneTouch did say that this early pricing is only for a limited time, though, with prices going back to $249.99 on April 20.
Amazon says the OneTouh Idol 3 will begin shipping on May 21, while Alcatel OneTouch says it will begin shipping in “mid-May,” so the dates are close enough.
The OneTouch Idol 3 features a 5.5-inch 1920×1080 display, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor under the hood. There’s a 13-megapixel camera on the back, and an 8MP front-facing shooter. It’s running Android 5.0.2 right out of the box.
For $199.99 (or even $249.99), the Idol 3 sounds like a worthwhile unlocked handset.
