Aside from the new Material Design UI, Android 5.0 Lollipop comes with a number of other new enhancements and features. Since these features are present in every nook and cranny of the OS and are not so obvious, chances are many novice users will be completely oblivious of them.
One such handy feature that Google has introduced in Android 5.0 Lollipop is Guest mode. As the name implies, you can setup a ‘guest’ account, which will hide all your personal data and installed apps, when someone wants to have a look at your phone or use it for a couple of minutes.
Here’s how you can use Guest Mode on your Android device running Lollipop.
Step 1: Drag down the notification bar and tap your avatar displayed on the top right corner of the display.
Step 2: Then select the ‘Add guest’ option and your device will automatically switch to a new user profile without your personal data or installed apps being visible.
The guest user will be able to login with Google account and do everything they want to, but any data saved by them will be automatically deleted once you switch back to the primary account.
You can switch back to your primary account by tapping ‘Remove guest’ option from the User Switcher dialog box that you had accessed by following Step 1 from above.
