Action Launcher, one of the most popular and unique launchers available on Google Play, today received an update to v3.5 that adds a new feature to it: Quickbar.

Quickbar builds on the search bar widget that almost every Android user has on their home screen. It allows them to add shortcuts to the search bar for quick access to their favorite apps. Users can have shortcuts for almost anything on the Quickbar including their most frequent contacts, go-to Twitter client, and more. Custom shortcuts from users can be further customised by selecting an icon of their choice.

To make users better understand the feature, developer Chris Lacy has also included a bunch of presets (Social, Audio and Productivity) that point to the relevant apps.

While seemingly minor, Quickbar makes the already unique Action Launcher stand out from the crowd of other launchers that are available on the Play Store.

What do you think about Quickbar in Action Launcher 3.5? Is it enough to make you switch from your existing launcher?
