LG has just unveiled its latest flagship handset for 2014 — the LG G3. As the leaks had indicated, the G3 is an absolute power house. It is filled to the brim with features and is among the first phones from a major OEM to sport a Quad HD display. LG has also paid attention to customer feedback and included a microSD card slot, a removable battery and a simpler UI on the G3.
So, how does the G3 stack up against its predecessor — the G2? Is it just an evolutionary upgrade or does it offer some really tempting features that make it a must buy even if you own a G2? Read our specs comparison below to find out.

What the tech sheet above does not mention is the fact that the G3 comes with a sleek metal skin back that gives it a very premium looking finish. Make no mistake though — the phone is still made of plastic. Considering how the G2 was made of cheap and glossy plastic, the G3’s build quality is a major step in the right direction even though it falls short of the likes of the Xperia Z2 and HTC One M8 .
Software wise — LG has toned down its Optimus UI and made things simpler with the G3. LG has made the UI flatter with more focus towards improving usability rather than just adding gimmicky features.
While the G3 offers many tempting features, the G2 is still such an excellent handset that it still stand its own against its bigger and faster successor.
