LG today announced its QuickCircle case for the G3, which is scheduled to be unveiled next week. We have already seen the QuickCircle case appear in a number of G3 leaks previously.
The accessory is a flip case for the G3 but with a small circular window cut-out in its front, rather than the usual rectangular window seen in such cases.
According to LG, G3 owners will be able to make or receive calls, listen to music, send messages, take photos and do much more, without even opening the QuickWindow case. The case is also meant to protect the side edges of the G3 whilst also providing the best “grip-abililty” and showing off the handset’s sleek design.
The smartphone ecosystem is constantly evolving — no longer are cases just for protection from the elements and bumps and drops,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “They’re the perfect accessory to build in extra features that add more value to a mobile device. With QuickCircle Case, we’ve exceeded the baseline by making it customizable to better fit users’ needs.
The case also has a feature dubbed Smart Lighting that will emit a soft, white, circular glow inside the window whenever the case is opened/closed or a call is received. Interestingly, the QuickCircle case will also be adding Qi wireless charging support to the G3.
The QuickWindow case will be available in five colors including Metallic Black, Silk White, Shine Gold, Aqua Mint and Indian Pink. LG also plans on releasing an SDK next month for developers to take advantage of the QuickCircle case.
