Want to know the code names of upcoming Nexus devices or Android version? Head over to the Chromium code review tracker, where it is quite common for Googlers to mention them.

Two eagle eyed Android lovers, Floarian Kiersch and Carsten Knobloch, found just that while browsing the Chromium tracker earlier today — pieces of code mentioning the names of upcoming Nexus devices from Google — the Nexus 6 and Nexus 8.

Rumours have been floating around for sometime that Google will be unveiling an 8-inch tablet at I/O this year made by HTC. The codename of the tablet was also found in the Android 4.4.3 change-log that leaked last week. The presence of the Nexus 8 in the Chromium code tracker confirms not only its existence but also its name.

Details about the Nexus 6 are scarce though, with most rumours suggesting that it would be based on the LG G3 with a 5.5-inch screen, which does not fit with its name. Either ways, the handset is not expected to be released sometime around Halloween in the United States so it is very much possible that we are looking at a tentative name for now.
