Android 4.4.3 could begin rolling out to the Nexus 5 today

The Android 4.4.3 update was recently rumored to be undergoing internal testing at Google, and now it looks like the update could be ready to roll out, at least to the Nexus 5. Sprint’s support page for the Nexus 5 says that the device is due to receive an update today, and while it doesn’t specifically mention 4.4.3, there’s a good chance it’s what we’re looking at.

The changelog for the update – which carries build number KTU84F – is quite short, only saying that it enables Sprint Spark band 26 and band 41 and includes “Misc Android updates.” The latter is a strong clue that it’s the Android 4.4.3 update – 4.4.3 is said to be a bug fixing release, which is probably why the carrier didn’t see a point in giving out more details on what users can expect from the update.

The update is scheduled to roll out in batches between today and April 21st, and considering Sprint seems to have gotten everything ready for Nexus 5’s on its network, the OTA for unlocked devices should be arriving any moment now. We’ll be sure to inform you when that happens, though you can try hitting that “Check now” button in the Settings » About phone » Software updates menu on your Nexus 5 if you’re feeling impatient.
