In a reply to a tweet about X removing the current block button, CEO Elon Musk said that the block function will prevent engagement but will still allow users to view public posts.

“The block function will block that account from engaging with, but not block seeing, public post,” Musk said on Monday, saying it’s ‘high time this happened.’
