The LG G Flex first leaked at the beginning of this month, and then last week, showing off its curved OLED screen in its full glory. Now, LG has gone ahead and unveiled the handset with a “self-healing” technology on the back cover.

As the leak had suggested, the G Flex packs a 6-inch 720p flexible OLED screen and is powered by a 2.3GHz Snapdragon S800 processor. The full specs of the handset are as follows -:

  • 6-inch flexible 720p OLED display which is curved from top to bottom
  • 2.3GHz Snapdragon S800 processor
  • Adreno 330 GPU
  • 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage
  • 13MP camera at the back, 2.1MP in the front
  • microSD card slot, NFC, GPS, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0
  • Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Optimus UI
  • 3500mAh non-removable battery

The design of the handset is itself inspired from the G2 with the Power and Volume buttons being housed at the back. All the software features that we saw on the G2 are also present including QSlide, Slide Aside, Knock On, and QRemote etc.

Another highlight of the G Flex, apart from the curved screen, is its “self-healing” back. LG says that there is a special protective coating on the back of the handset, which will automatically heal the scratches within minutes.

The G Flex will arrive on three major carriers in Korea from next month, with no mention of a global roll-out.
