It looks like Sony is going to hold an event on November 12th in China (Shanghai) to unveil two new Xperia devices – the Xperia Z1S and the Xperia ‘tianchi’.
At the moment, the event has not been confirmed but press invites of the event are expected to be sent out soon. Leaks suggest that the company will be announcing the Xperia Z1S, a mini version of its recently released flagship – the Xperia Z1 – with the same powerful internal specs which includes a Snapdragon S800, 2GB of RAM and a 20.7MP G-Lens camera. The only difference will be a smaller and much more compact 4.3-inch screen with 720p resolution.
Apart from the Z1S, the company is also expected to unveil the Xperia ‘tianchi’, which will be the first phone to be powered by an eight-core MediaTek SoC. The tianchi will compete with the likes of the Galaxy Mega with its huge 6-inch 720p screen and will be light on the wallet as well.
